This article explores the evolving dynamics of adolescents’ digital practices and their implications for socialization, identity, and well-being. The research, conducted over two years with students aged 14-19 in Bologna, employed a mixed-method approach to examine media habits before and after the pandemic. The findings highlight increased screen time, a shift toward more functional forms of communication, and the challenges of managing fragmented identities across multiple platforms. Moreover, the study reveals a remarkable discrepancy between students’ and teachers’ perceptions of digital well-being and concerns regarding adolescents’ digital practices.
