Education for sustainability aims to develop knowledge, skills and values in children to create equitable and democratic contexts. It intercepts different dimensions of educational practices, fostering transformations in individual and collective behaviour, aimed at living more in tune with others in the environment. For practitioners designing sustainable educational contexts therefore appears to be a crucial need. A reflexive thematic analysis of international and national documents that thematise, more or less explicitly, education for sustainability, highlights three main themes: the well-being of people, respect for the planet and the active participation of children as agents of change. Educating for sustainability in children's services can therefore make it possible to recognise the value of awareness, empowerment and collective action.
