Abstract

Ecofeminism represents a field of studies and cultural practices that integrates feminist concerns with a growing awareness of ecological issues. This approach offers a significant theoretical framework for the creation of a new meanings in education. The analysis of ecofeminist themes reveals oppressive mechanisms that influence crucial issues of sustainability, rights, and gender relations. Recently, and thanks to Plumwood’s and Gaard’s research, contemporary ecofeminism has adopted an intersectional stance that annexes all forms of oppression, uniting them in their intentions. A paradigm shift that will also be captured by making a brief foray into the realm of recent children's literature, particularly in the promotion of female agency in fostering a participatory culture inspired by ecofeminism.
