Male violence against women is a "social barbarism" that has its roots in the history of humanity and originates from the construction of asymmetric relationships between the sexes, in which the power of men has prevailed and has projected on women forms of domination and discrimination which impeded them from achieving full emancipation in the private and public spheres over the centuries. After a reflection on the causes and the dimen-sions of the gender violence, this paper intends to focus on the pedagogical knowledge and the educational skills that teachers should develop and implement to intentionally promote, in their professional action, the critical de-construction of the patriarchal ideology that is still present in our culture and to encourage young people to use new languages and new narrations of living together based on the values of respect and equality.
