Abstract

The article addresses the issue of violence against women and domestic violence in light of the Istanbul Convention, which has had a significant positive impact, making a tangible contribution to legislative, policy and mindset changes. Indeed, the Convention is the main instrument for building a comprehensive legal framework for the protection of women against all forms of violence, prevention, repression and elimination of violence against women and domestic violence. Unfortunately, however, the road to eradicating gender-based violence is still a long one, despite the normative interventions put in place by our country.
