Abstract

This paper reports the first results of a netnographic explorative research about the Italian teachers’ learning experience into the Facebook Groups focused on teaching/learning activities. From an online survey, we try to give a picture about the teachers’ motivations, styles of communication and participation, and evaluations of their online learning processes. Based on 354 responses, the research indicates that in Facebook Groups teachers can develop their digital literacies, explore new training models and integrate offline and online experiences in a new pattern: the onlife training. The more teachers themselves are confident in onlife learning, the more they are effective with their students.
