Abstract

The schools, through their own websites and social channels, perform a processing of personal data of underage students, that isn’t always suitable to the high protection required by national and supranational law. This is sometimes due to a lack of awareness, or however to a lack of knowledge about the data protection discipline and the decisions of the Italian Data Protection Authority, as well as the supranational documents. The results of a questionnaire addressed to more than sixty teachers confirm the gap above. The new challenges regarding data protection in the Net, more and more rich in user generated contents, require schools to spread the knowledge of the European Regulation n. 679/2016 – intended to standardize data protection rules – among teachers and those which can spread personal data of students.
