Abstract – The article reflects on miseducation, understood as a form of denied recognition, implemented by reifying relationships. The heuristic-hermeneutic interest focuses on the dyads apaideusia-misrecognition and paideia-recognition. By starting from some preliminary considerations, centered on παιδεία and the ontological need to be recognized and to recognize, we come to understand the recognition experience as an instrument of humanization and social cohesion, capable of showing the person to himself or herself and dealing with stereotypes and prejudices. In the phenomenology of everyday life, the shadow of misrecognition looms over each individual and within every educational relationship. It is likely that a possible path to follow can be identified in the implementation of paths of recognition, which animate the paideia, called to cultivate three pedagogical forms of recognition: recognition-identification-confirmation, recognition-understanding-empathy, and recognition-demonstration.
