Abstract

Abstract The paper illustrates the participatory design of training experiences on educational robotics for preschool teachers. It starts from the results of the Robobimbi research that, moving from the study of the mental representations of robots in 3-to-6-year-old children, investigated how educational robotics could contribute to promoting their social learning processes. The first training experience was designed and implemented in 2020/2021 and involved 45 teachers from 11 schools associated with the Provincial Federation of Preschools of Trento. In 2022/2023 a second version of training – addressed to other 7 schools – was organized: it was designed by introducing a new tangible coding tool (i-Code) and by considering the educational-didactic criticalities that had emerged during the first training experience.
