Abstract

The paper proposes an examination of the tension relationship established by Fichte between the real and the ideal. To this end, the author investigates the way in which the philosopher on the one hand modulated the concept of ‘spirit’ in a practical sense, emphasizing its ability to "represent ideals", and on the other, he recognized "real force" to those "finalist concepts" whose origin he identified in the "real energy" of those who are driven to create a "better world", by virtue of an impulse of self-transcendence.
