Abstract

S.M.A.R.T. is the acronym of the Italian words for Sport, Movement, Eating Habits and Sleeping Patterns, Relationships and Technologies, they have been used by a pool of researchers of the University of Naples “Parthenope” from different backgrounds to develop a questionnaire in order to assess adolescents’ awareness about the effects of unhealthy lifestyles and the risk of an incorrect use of technologies. Sport participation is associated with positive developmental outcomes: children physically active appear to be less prone to mental distress and shows enhanced cognitive skills, discipline, responsibility and empathy. Aim of this article is to emphasize the role of sport in adolescents’ education. Therefore the following pilot research evaluate the effect of the sport practice on Eating Habit, Sleeping Pattern, Relationship and awareness in using Technologies. To date, the research group has administered “S.M.A.R.T. questionnaire” to a group of 128 subjects: 82 practicing sport and 46 not-practicing sport.
