Abstract

In this paper we identify some of the main difficulties that affect Italian school system. These difficulties are analyzed at two intertwined levels. The level regarding the international research on education and the European policy decisions inspired to this research. The level regarding the Italian reception of these decisions and the overall configuration of the Italian school system. On the basis of these difficulties, we propose some key operative strategies concerning school organization. Even in the present conditions, the proposed strategies can enhance relevant processes of empowerment. These processes can improve innovative teaching approaches and Italian school efficacy at the same time.
