Abstract

Nowadays schools receive continuous requests from the outside world: different requests from the families, with a fragile and diversified structure force teachers to deal with new problems in order to provide adequate answers maintaining a balance between respect for authority and the exercise of understanding. The collegiate bodies, which should promote involvement and exchange have become obsolete tools with very low participation. Schools need to encourage participation and communication with parents, reinforcing co-responsibility for pupils education and instruction. The contribution aims to analyze the voice of schools on the theme of relationships between schools and families, through an empirical investigation of what was declared in the Improvement Plans implemented (Indire format), and retracing the related school legislation from the foundation of the collegiate bodies to the latest ministerial notes.
