Abstract

Factors like the actual transformation of the family, the programmed filiation, the generativity crisis that involves adults are severely challenging the concept of parental responsibility. Indeed, these cultural changes are affecting the patterns of primary attachment of the child and are giving a new physiognomy to the secondary attachment. This new context should be characterized by co-education features: caregivers are not only biological but also non-biological parents, grandparents, uncles. This situation may lead adults to a lack of awareness about their educational agency and about their responsibility towards children. The aim of the present essay is to reflect on the most appropriate research paths that can assist educators in developing new and challenging educational relationship with children and their families in nursery schools and kindergartens and in creating harmonious and integrated educational actions capable of protecting/encouraging children’s culture.
