Abstract

Parental responsibility, far from being an expression of authoritarianism, which is linked to an obsolete notion of parental authority, consists in the protection, care and promotion of the growth and maturation of the children, supporting their psycho-physical attitudes, natural inclination and aspirations. In this regard, within each family, it is desirable to establish a pedagogical project, fruit of a communion of life, in which it is actually possible to develop the personality of each component. Parents’ educational duties are supported by the contribution of the educational institutions accompanting the family in the upbringing of children from their early age through the transmission of the cognitive and value heritage of civil society to new generations. From this point of view, it emerges the opportunity to examine the level of conflict in school / family relations in the context of the pursuit of the right balance between the assertion of students’ fundamental rights and the effects linked to a possible misuse of judicial review.
