Abstract

This paper describes and analyses how the famous and diffused Petit Larousse dealt with the question of the WWI. As far as the decades went on, the dictionary presented the question in a different ideological perspective, always according to hegemonic culture, from a violent reaction against Germans to a diffused Germanophobia and, finally, a well-balanced assessment of responsibilities and human piety towards all them who were involved in the war.
