Abstract

The aim of this report is to present, for the first time, a group of meteorological instruments, made between
the XIX and the beginning of the XX century, belonging to the conspicuous Collection of Antique Physic
Instruments of the University of Ferrara (Italy). After a brief introduction, the article describes a schematic
history of Meteorology. Successively it provides images of the meteorological instruments with their historical
contextualization and technical specifications. This report is part of a research which uses history and antique
instruments to increase the comprehension of basic Physics by part of people with no particular knowledge in
