In the following text, a few relevant aspects of the collection of short-stories Vita coniugale by Ivan Levrini are taken into careful account, in particular his distinctive use of language, the nature of his characters and the comic element which runs throughout all of them. Moreover, some clear influences from the late 19th century Russian narrative have been singled out in order to better understand the author’s themes and style.
