Description, criticism and problems, often paradoxical, related to the exercise of political power are present in a large number Lucian’s works. My aim in this paper is to examine different models and different perspectives to focus on power in lucianic writings: the power in imaginary worlds or of the past, and in the daily life of citizens of the empire, such as Lucian himself, or at least his characters.
Based on this analysis I will try to determine whether the approach to this issue is, in Lucian, a purely rhetorical performance, a philosophical reflection on power, or a particular political or religious position.
