"Alla traduzione animata vuolsi un poeta". Metafore del Satyricon

Abstract

After having aknowledged the methaforical charge of Petronio's language, the author also suggests to characterize the translation of that figurative language ("parlar figurato") that pays tribute to the literary temper of Petronio's masterpiece. A vivacious translation of jargons, technical terms, ideomatic sentences, lively discussions and even of the Pindaric flights of the Bellum Civile is provided, to avoid lack of charisma in this "saporoso romanzo dei bassifondi".
