Abstract

The paper focuses on some strategies of composition in Aleotti’s theatre by analysing ideological context and working practices. The examples drawn from “Nozze Pio-Farnese” in 1587 and Aleotti’s tournaments in 1610 and 1612 outline a stage language that shaped the Farnese theatre.
